The brakes are a vital part of the way you safely drive and operate your vehicle. You should not drive without properly working brakes. It is a huge safety issue to drive with malfunctioning brakes or brakes that are showing signs of wear. However, it’s not always easy to know when you need brake repair. Here are several warning signs that something is wrong with your brakes and you should bring your car to us ASAP to have a look:
- Pulling – Your car should never pull to one side while driving or braking. When you apply the brakes in your vehicle, it should continue to drive straight. If you notice a pulling while braking, then you need to get your vehicle in the shop immediately for a brake repair.
- Noise – This is probably the most typical sign that a brake repair is needed. If you can hear your breaks grinding, squeaking or screeching, then it is time to have your brakes repaired.
- Squishy Brakes – If your breaks feel squishy, meaning you have to press harder than normal on the brake to get your vehicle to stop, then you have a serious issue. It is vital that you stop driving your vehicle and bring it to our shop immediately.
- Vibration – Vibrations felt on the steering wheel or on the brake pedal while braking can be a warning sign that there’s an issue with your brakes.
If you notice one or more of these warning signs, it is imperative that you have your brakes looked at. You do not want to let a brake issue go on for any amount of time before having it repaired.
